Ethics & Code of Conduct

Cosplay Is Not Consent

Ask first before taking a photo of someone. Don't touch people without their consent (this includes putting your arm around them, patting them on the shoulder, or hugging them).

Gameplay Conduct

Organized play is designed to help facilitate a safe and fun experience for everyone who sits down at the table. To further support that, we require that all participants read and understand our policy regarding appropriate conduct.

Inclusion and Safety:

  • All participants are here to have fun and should feel safe and included at all times.
  • All participants (players, Game Masters (GM), Panelists, Vendors, and organizers) are expected to adhere to the following Code of Conduct.
  • Participants must conduct themselves in a manner that is conducive to the enjoyment and safety of others at the event.
  • Avoid excessively vulgar, sexual, or overly mature language and themes.
  • Discourage others from using social media to bully, shame, or intimidate other participants.

Good Sportsmanship:

  • Follow the GMs lead, avoid arguing with the GM or other players over rules.
  • Let other players speak, avoid talking over others.
  • Avoid excessive cross-talk that is not relevant to the adventure being played
  • Allow other players to get attention from the GM.
  • Avoid off-topic conversations at the table. If you must engage in an out of game conversation, please place yourself on mute until you have concluded your out of game conversation.

What To Do?

  • Participants who feel as though they are in an unsafe environment should notify one of the organizers or volunteers [wearing... coming soon].
  • If a participant feels uncomfortable bringing it to the attention of the disruptive individual, the participant should notify the GM or an event organizer immediately.
  • The GM has the right to ask a disruptive player to leave the table and speak with an organizer.
  • The organizers have the right to remove disruptive or aggressive players or GMs from the play area.
  • Anyone observing an incident is encouraged to report their concerns.
  • All reports will be confidential and respected to the greatest degree possible.
  • Information will only be shared in direct relation to resolving the incident.
  • Individuals who prefer to report anonymously, may use our online form: [coming soon]

Anti-Harassment Policy

Rocky Con seeks to provide a welcoming, fun, and safe convention and community. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Discriminatory language and imagery is not appropriate for any venue, including any game sessions and any community resources such as the Rocky Con social media pages.

Aggressive or harassing behaviors include, but are not limited to; threats of physical aggression, use of racial, gender, or cultural-slurs, and body shaming or bullying.

Rocky Con staff have both the power and the duty to investigate all reported incidents of harassment and to remove confirmed harassers from Rocky Con venues both physical and virtual.
