You can create your own schedule for panels and events you want to attend at Rocky Con. Once you create an account, you can mark which panels and events you’d like to attend, and Sched will give you a complete listing of them.
Play & Win events are games for you to learn, play and have a chance to win the game you played! Everyone who plays a Play & Win game is entered into a drawing and the winner of the drawing wins that game. The drawing is random, winners can only win 1 game, winners must claim their prize by 6pm on Sunday.
Scheduled: Some of the Play & Win games will be hosted by a Game Master and scheduled through Sched.
Spontaneous: An attendee will start a game once there is enough crowd interest to play a few rounds.
Check-Out On Your Own: Anyone can check out a Play & Win game at any time to play it!
Rocky Con offers the ability to sign up for scheduled games. In advance of the event, players will volunteer to GM games (either their own or borrowed from the convention library if available). Those who sign up first have first dibs to play. It is very common for people to not show up for their scheduled event, so do not be deterred if the signup sheet is full for a game you really want to play. Sign up anyway and get on the waitlist and show up to see who makes the scheduled time.
Panels Discussions: A panel is content that is non-interactive, except for a Q&A portion. This can be a round-table discussion, a moderated Q&A session, or a presentation.
Game Shows & Quizzes: An interactive event with a larger audience. A few examples of Rocky Con's game show events are the dice stacking challenge and the
Main Events: Rocky Con's biggest and most highly attended events like the "Hail and Well Met" Opening Event and the Cosplay Contest.
Rocky Con 2025 will not host any tournaments this year.
Our game library will have a variety of games available during Game Library hours. View our game library [more coming soon]. Check out a game to play in our Open Gaming Area.
Unreserved tables for drop-in style gaming will be available at Rocky Con. In this case people will either check out games from the Game Library or bring their own and either arrange with others for an agreed upon time to play or simply hang out at a table with the game box displayed with a sign "looking for players" and wait for folks to join your game.
Rocky Con's workshops are smaller, interactive sessions within the larger convention where attendees can actively participate in learning new skills, practicing techniques, or discussing specific topics through hands-on activities.
A cosplay meetup is a designated time and place at a convention where people who are dressed in costume (aka “cosplay”) gather to take group photos, meet other cosplayers and fans with similar interests, and show off their costume work in a fun, welcoming environment.
Rocky Con is a nonprofit event supporting The Rocky Mountain Behavior Institute. RMBI's mission is to conduct and translate research in the field of student behavior intervention for practitioner use in the classroom as well as providing Special Education/Related Services for rural schools in the Mountain West.
